How do I start my first scan?

1. Click "Start Free Scan" on the homepage
2. Choose your scan type (facial, wellness, etc.)
3. Allow camera access when prompted
4. Position yourself according to the on-screen guidelines
5. Click "Capture & Analyze" to begin

What scan types are available for free?

Free users can access:

Do I need to create an account?

No account creation is required. SafeLens works immediately without registration. Your scan history is stored locally on your device.

Camera & Technical

Why can't I access my camera?

Common solutions:
• Check browser permissions for camera access
• Ensure no other apps are using your camera
• Try refreshing the page
• Use a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)

How do I switch between front and back cameras?

Look for the camera flip icon (circular arrow) in the top-right corner of the camera view. Click it to switch between your device's cameras.

What lighting conditions work best?

• Natural daylight is ideal
• Avoid harsh shadows or direct sunlight
• Ensure even lighting on your face
• Avoid backlighting (light behind you)

Understanding Results

What do confidence levels mean?

Confidence levels indicate how certain our AI is about the analysis:
• 90-100%: Very high confidence
• 70-89%: Good confidence
• 50-69%: Moderate confidence
• Below 50%: Low confidence - results may be unreliable

What do risk levels indicate?

Low: No immediate concerns detected
Medium: Some indicators worth monitoring
High: Concerning signs detected - consider medical consultation
Critical: Urgent medical attention may be needed

SafeLens provides educational insights only. Always consult healthcare professionals for medical concerns. Our AI can have false positives and false negatives.
